Andrea Insoll

Andrea Insoll works from her studio on the Roseland peninsula in Cornwall. She studied at Newcastle, Chelsea, and finally Hereford college of Art. She has produced art work in many media including textiles, glass and ceramics. However, she has become well known for her vibrant paintings which refer to her interests in these other disciplines.

Collectors admire the textures, the fine drawing as well as the compositions of these pictures which are usually based on a combination of still life and flora observed on her travels and carefully drawn and photographed. Her distinctive 'Stained Glass series' of paintings have been very well received and a painting from this series was chosen to promote the South West edition of Galleries in 2011.

Her work is described by fellow artists as distinctively fresh and truly contemporary. It lends itself well to large spaces which it fills with a pleasing precision and vibrancy.
