David Shutt:(born 1945) graduated from Leeds University with First Class Honours in Fine Art, 1968, and completed The Higher Diploma in Painting (post graduate) from The Slade School, London, 1978.
David initially worked as a documentary film-maker and lecturer before turning his attention to painting full-time. His work is found in collections around the world and he has held numerous exhibitions. His many awards include The National Gallery Imperial Tobacco award, 1985. He was invited to become a member of the prestigious London Group in 1990 and exhibits alongside such luminaries as Anthony Eyton RA and Dame Paula Rego DBE. David's work is highly researched and intense in its detail, but this description falls short of capturing the essence of his paintings. Only a viewing can convey their true impact.
David has spent several years working in his studio in Greece and now plans to split his time between Cornwall and Greece.
